    General

In the January 2025 edition, Entrepreneur magazine highlights Orlando Cat Café as an innovative franchise concept. The café combines a full-service coffee shop with an adjacent area housing 12 to 20 cats available for adoption from a local center. This setup allows guests to enjoy beverages and food while interacting with the cats or observing them through a large picture window. Notably, separate A/C and filtration systems ensure that even those with cat allergies can comfortably experience the café. Since its opening in 2016, Orlando Cat Café has welcomed over 180,000 visitors and began franchising in 2024.

This journey of persistence and pivoting offers a powerful lesson for today’s animal shelters: to embrace creativity and evolve beyond traditional models. Much like the pet food industry redefined expectations, shelters now have the opportunity to reinvent themselves for the future.
